Our Estimate for ollie’s Surgery is $4,000 which is to fix both knees. We greatly appreciate all the love and support. If you can donate or share or even pray, we would be eternally grateful.
*update 3/20 it turns out Ollie isn’t having issues with his back. His pain seems to be from a grade 4 patellar luxation and at this point only surgery is going to fix it. Had it been a lower grade, therapy may have helped- but it’s past that point I’m afraid. The surgery is going to be around $2500. Every dollar will help. Thank you so much! We love Ollie and want him to be able to get around easily again.

UPDATE -
Ollie is declining once again. He was on steroids and his doctor said we would know if he will need another surgery by tapering him off his steroids. She said if he became painful with the lower doses of steroid then he will most likely need to have more disk material removed. Unfortunately he is declining once again due to coming off his steroids so we believe he’s going to need another surgery**
On November 1, 2018, Ollie woke up fully paralyzed in his hind end. We took him to his veterinarian immediately where X-rays were performed and we were referred to UGA teaching hospital to confirm a ruptured disk. After an MRI, it was confirmed that he had ruptured a disk. He then underwent a laminectomy in order to remove disk material in hopes of relieving pressure on the spinal cord and reversing damage.
The surgery was successful and after many prayers, he came home on November 15. He improved greatly- was comfortable, ambulatory for a few minutes a day, and was doing great.
He continued to improve until November 24 when we began to notice he was regressing and not as strong in his back end as he had been the past few days. We decided to take him to UGA again where they confirmed he was in pain and seemed to have more disk material.
We were sent home with Gabapentin, Prednisone, and Trazadone and strict crate rest. He goes back in a week and if he hasn’t improved, will need another surgery. I hate to have to ask for help, but I’m going out of my comfort zone on this one. I love him enough to provide him the best care possible and give him the best recovery.
