Ollie the abandoned Akita Inu

HELP NEEDED This is Ollie a 9 year old Akita Inu who has been abandoned here at Spatchcock Kennels.  His owner claimed he was going into hospital and needed to board Ollie for a week but now says he is too much for him and wants us to find him a new home - like it's that easy! I would have more sympathy for the man if he hadn't lied about Ollie's age, his vaccination details (turns out he hasn't seen a vet in his life), his address, plus the fact he dropped him off with a huge chain around his neck tied to a rope which clearly hadn't been removed in a very long time, so he'd obviously been tied up outside for goodness knows how long, plus he has chronic skin and eye issues which have never been treated, so he has bald spots on most of his head and tail and very bad, congealed tear stains. His fur is also matted down to the skin There aren't any rescues that have space for him (we haven't either as it's now our busiest tome of year) but we can't abandon him so we are going to do what we can to find him a home. However we need funds to cover his kennelling costs, grooming and vet bills (he's also had a urine infection which I've got antibiotics for). The team at Woozlebears in Swindon have very kindly agreed to groom him free of charge but I would like to give them something as it's going to be a big job for them! I am setting up a Go Fund Me page which I will share details of once finalised but in the meantime if you could please share this post to see if we can find a home for him asap ... he's very friendly with people but not good with other dogs or other small animals. He doesn't deserve this at his age and we'd love for him to see out his final years in a loving home - something I don't think he has ever known
