Okuno Family of Koloa Flood Relief

Donation protected
In addition to Hanalei, there were other areas on Kaua'i that suffered major damage from Sunday's storm. Parts of Koloa were, without warning, flooded which has resulted in many local families being displaced and forced to throw away most of their furnishings and household goods.
The Okuno family is one of many families that were affected and they could use some help to lift them up. They are us. Those of us in the Hamauku-Akona families are diverse and spread across the world, but we all stick together. Koloa is our piko. The Okuno 'ohana is part of the Hamauku-Akona clan. Their Dad, Ikaika Okuno is our cousin. His great grandmother, Aunty Dot Muraoka, was the daughter of our kupuna, Matthias (Tutu man) and Lucy (Tutu lady) Hamauku-Akona. The Okuno family are hard working, family-oriented people. They, like most of us in our family would never ask for anything.
As you can see from the picture, they will need furniture and household goods as the water rose so fast, they couldn't save anything. Though I have set a goal of $5,000., we know they'll much more. If are fortunate enough to raise these funds, the family will be able to go to Costco, or support a local vendor to re-establish their home.
Please contribute whatever you can afford.
