Support Innovation Brewing
Stand with Innovation Brewing in their legal dispute with Bell's Brewery. The much larger brewery has filed a federal trademark opposition against Innovation Brewing, based on Bell’s use of “Inspired Brewing” and “Bottling Innovation Since 1985.”
This campaign is to assist in covering a portion of the mounting legal fees Innovation Brewing faces in defending their name and business. Chip and Nicole are both wonderful, hard-working, bighearted people, as anyone who has been to their establishment would happily attest. They deserve our support in overcoming this difficulty.
As a friend and family member, I have seen these two bring their dreams to life through this brewery, and it is difficult to see their growth and success being attacked. I would like to see their funds being able to go back into their business and equipment, where it belongs, instead of being drained away in this legal battle.
So stand with Innovation Brewing, and show your support! Thank you. Should funding happen to exceed their fees in this matter, the money would be put to good use in aiding the business in other needs.

I've always liked Bell's but this is ridiculous. Apparently they've become so big they've lost their roots as a craft brewery. They should all be SUPPORTING small craft breweries, not threatening lawsuits. I've never tried Innovation's beer, but the next time I'm in NC I'll definitely check it out. Keep up the good fight!
Pumped to see the nationwide support for Innovation Brewing. Have been a customer and fan of theirs since day 1, and happy to say that I will no longer be a Bells customer. This is going to work out just fine for Innovation, and I bet these Michigan folks may one day have Innovation beer available to them.
They have posted their response to Bell's here: https://www.facebook.com/innovationbrewing/posts/455657244592313 They are working on trying to produce an unbiased, all facts on the table piece, and when they have completed that I will post an update to this page. Thank you.
Bradley, I will ask them. I can tell you that it is trademark dispute, not a lawsuit, and that they are very restricted in what they are allowed to say because of the legal process.
Has Innovation responded to Bells yet? The latter claims there is no lawsuit, an offer to pay legal fees, etc. http://bellsbeer.com/blog/314-Letter_from_the_Vice_President__Laura_Bell_addresses_federal_trademark_dispute
Help Keep Sylva Drunk - not in that moonshine-swilling, firearms violation kind of way, but in sophisticated, craft-beer kind of way. Speaking as a Michigander who has made WNC his home (Chip's from Michigan originally as well), Larry Bells has done a lot for craft beer in America. That said, feel free to put your dollars in the hands of other brewers just like Chip who just happen to live in the Mitten, WNC, or anywhere else. #boycottbells
Looking forward to a victory party or further opportunity to support the cause at the Waynesville Craft Beer Fair in August...No fires this time ;-) Keep up the fight.
Yes, we in Michigan are behind you. In fact some of us in a (largely) Michigan based group started a petition which all are welcome to sign: https://www.change.org/p/bell-s-brewery-inc-drop-your-lawsuit-against-innovation-brewing
Luther I can understand your frustration with Bells, but don't swear off all Michigan products because of the actions of one brewery. A lot of Michigan people in craft beer are standing behind Innovation. It's a shame Bells had to go and do this.
Is this Anheuser Busch? Another example of big companies using the legal system to stamp out ingenuity. I have drank my last Michigan product, not to mention Bells Brewery.
Hi, yes Keri set this up for us (Innovation Brewing) and we are very grateful. We appreciate all your support in this. This is indeed going directly to help out Innovation Brewing.
Keri is Chip's sister law and she is leading the charge because Chip is too modest to get publicity.
Hi Kendalyn, totally understandable. I will ask them to comment here with their Facebook account so you can know they are receiving the donations. Thank you :)
Seriously not trying to sound like a jerk. Is there a way to know this is definitely going to the Innovation Brewing Company?
