Send Ohio to the CWI Summer School

This July, hundreds of activists from every continent will meet for a week-long school in Barcelona hosted by the Committee for a Workers' International (CWI), Socialist Alternative's international affiliate. We (Dana from Columbus branch & Robert from Cincinnati branch) have been given the incredible opportunity to be a part of this conference and bring back useful lessons from struggles happening around the world.
The role Ohio plays in US politics is unique and significant. While the Columbus and Cincinnati Socialist Alternative branches are relatively new, we've had a huge political impact and grown rapidly in just a few years. In Columbus, members have led protests of thousands, including organizing a rally of 3,000 at the statehouse protesting Trump’s Muslim ban in 2017 and this year’s women’s march in January. In Cincinnati, members worked in collaboration with the local DSA chapter to save a public library building while taking on the biggest development corporation in the city and WON.
As we continue to face incredible growth across Ohio, including a young chapter in Dayton, it’s crucial for us to connect with and make lasting ties with socialist fighters from around the world and apply the lessons we’ll learn at the CWI summer school to our work building fighting branches across the state.
Please contribute what you can to help us take advantage of this incredible opportunity. Flight, food, and housing will cost about $1500 per person so any donation will help us get there! Since we are both employed as social workers, it would be difficult for us to dig up the funds for this ourselves.
