hello! this is vanille, one of the 7 wonders of the world (or the only one, according to her, especially clad in her favorite christmas outfit). 

she’s been suffering from chronic pancreatitis for 2 years now, and her treatments are pretty expensive, mostly when an acute episode strikes. i manage as well as i possibly can, tho considering how old she is, it was only a matter of time before she also suffered from something else.

she was recently diagnosed with chronic kidney disease, which i was told is fairly common for cats her age. unfortunately, this also requires another kind of special diet, which i'm trying to balance with the special one she’s already on, and more medication. her blood pressure isn't stellar but it's relatively stable for the moment.

she’ll be turning 17 in a couple months, which i realize is pretty old, and i’m not fooling myself; considering her illnesses, i know that most of her life is behind her. i know i can’t escape that, and it’s not what i’m aiming for. what i am aiming for is to keep her as comfortable as possible, until the very end. honestly tho, other than her pancreatitis episodes, you can’t even tell she’s sick, or old for that matter. she mostly acts like a playful kitten with an attitude, and believe me, it's an attitude that matches her oversized ego.



it’s getting harder to cover the costs of her treatments, even with the generous donations i've received. my wisdom teeth just decided it was a good time to show up (i'm in my 30s, this is ridiculous), and their necessary extraction deeply cuts into my budget for vanille. i figured that gofundme was ideal for this unfortunate situation, and the goal i set should cover most of the surgery costs. with your help, my stress levels will drastically lower, and i'll be able to keep caring for vanille with more ease.
