Help Pastor Thomas with Cancer Exp

$17,130 of $40,000 goal

Raised by 78 people in 10 months

The Board of Elders of the Orange County Singles for Christ Church needs your help.  Our Senior Pastor Thomas Rose, has recently been diagnosed with Stage III Colon cancer and is currently undergoing treatment for it. Right now he is recovering from colon surgery, where they removed 10" of his colon from where the cancer had been found.  His chemotherapy begins in just a few days!

Pastor Thomas only receives small financial compensation for his service to the church and relies very heavily on the ability to make a living for Pam and him via his day job as an Uber driver.  Consequently, he will not be able to return to this job any time soon and may not be able to return to this job for months, due to on-going treatment.  He does have basic health insurance, but there are additional living and medical expenses that HMO care will not cover.

What we are asking from you is to pray for our pastor that the right treatment would be administered that can stop the spread of this disease. Furthermore, if you can help in any way by financial means, your donation will be applied as a tax deductible donation via the church, provided you include your name and email address so that we can contact you (this will be handled via this site and we will keep a running total via this site as well).

If you choose to send your donation anonymously, you can do that here as well, or send it to the church at…

Dear Family and Friends,

Just a follow up to thank you all so much for your amazingly generous, gracious gift(s) and prayers, and continuing to walk with me in this journey!

I completed my chemo treatments and now on to POST Chemo treatments, blood tests, scans, biophys etc etc. Post Chemo Cancer treatments are more painful than the Chemo was.

My current prayer request is for God to heal me of the neuropathy that is in full grip of my hands and feet. I feel nothing as the nerves in my hands and feet which were killed by the chemo. Recovery is 8 months to 5 years, IF AT ALL!!

Imagine walking for 10 minutes then is full pain, or buttoning your shirt and you can't feel the buttons or the holes they go into. That's the neuropathy at work. At church I am often sitting down with my feet up, that's go get the swelling down. Most probably think I am "Slacking" on the job! LOL!

Most POST Chemo tests have come in ok, however, a body scan found 2 masses in my left lung, so I go in again, next week for another scan and another round of Blood Tests. Hopefully, whatever is there is gone. Doctors are not sure what the masses are and wanted to wait a couple of months so the residual chemo could vacate my body. SOOOO, we will see!

So please be praying that God heals this stage of my life with an earthly victory; and there are many more fruitful years of service in God's Kingdom!

Blessings to you and again, thank you sooooo much for your prayers, support and words of encouragement!

Pastor Thomas

P.S. My post chemo treatments are running at $1k a month. I would be most appreciative if you can forward this posting. Also, donations are Tax Deductible, as this Go Fund Me is approved by GFM as a church affiliated page. Thanks You!!

Dear Friends and Family,

WOW, Thank you so much for your amazingly generous, gracious gift and prayers, and continuing to walk with me in this journey!

Thank you for helping me in my cancer fight! Not Easy at All!! And the Battle Continues!

I finished my chemo treatments and now on to POST Chemo treatments, blood tests, scans, biopsies etc etc.

My current prayer request is for God to heal me of the neuropathy that is in full grip of my hands and feet. I feel nothing as the nerves in my hands and feet, were killed by the chemo. Recovery is 8 months to 5 years, IF AT ALL!!

My first Quarter of Test results were mostly positive. All my blood work was within range, and my Cancer C.E.A. Blood test showed stable. The full body scan found 2 masses in my left lung. Doctors are not sure what the masses are, so I am scheduled for another body scan in early Sept. The doctors don't think it is cancer, but not sure. The doctors think that the masses are chemo related. So nothing definitive.

So we pray, work on the neuropathy, and continue with post chemo cancer treatments.

So please be praying that God ends this stage of my life with an earthly victory; and there are many more fruitful years of service in God's Kingdom!

Blessings to you and again, thank you sooooo much for your prayers, support and words of encouragement!

Dear Friend and Family,

WOW, Thank you so much for your amazingly generous, gracious gift and prayers, and continuing to walk with me in this journey!

Thank you for helping me in my cancer fight! Not Easy at All!!

God is so good, chemo is no fun, but truly it is the encouragement of the Saints that keeps me moving forward. So I covet your prayers!!!!!

This week I finished treatment #12 of 12, CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!! Yuck! Chemo is really harsh, but doable. Thank God for His strength to get thru this!!

I don't really know how effectual this whole process has been until (throughout April) I go thru a battery of blood tests, scans, MRI etc to determine how effectual was the chemo!

So please be praying that God ends this stage of my life with an earthly victory; and there are many more fruitful years of service in God's Kingdom!

Blessings to you and again, thank you sooooo much for your prayers, support and words of encouragement!

Good Afternoon Ya'll!!

Well, it's been about a month since my last update. Thank you so much for your continued gracious support, prayers and encouragement!

Tomorrow, (Feb 6th) marks the beginning of my 5th month for chemotherapy, we are 2/3 of the way done, Chemo supposedly ends on March 20th, but who knows!!

The journey is long and arduous, but I am thankful for all the prayers and encouraging emails that are sent to me.

One week your beaten down by the chemo, then the next week one recovers from all the effects. Then round and round again!

The side effects of Chemo are now constant, that's a major drag, but you learn to listen to your body and adjust accordingly.

Being on disability is no fun, lots of bed rest and just "chillin' like a villian", with winter settling in I get more and more home bound, as chemo and cold weather don't mix too well! But that's ok, a small price to pay to get healed up, right!!

Again, thank you so much for your gracious support, prayers and encouragement!

Blessings to each of you,

Pastor Thomas
