Occupy Inauguration

A large and nationally endorsed coalition action is taking place in Washington DC Jan 20th, 2017 (Inauguration day) and Jan 21st, 2017 (Citizens United seven-year anniversary). Regardless of who is elected president the voices of the 99% will be shut out. From day one, our movements will need to unite our fight to advance the political revolution.

We’re asking you to help us bring a movement to DC to uplift the voices ignored by corporate mass media, dismissed by politicians, and policed by militarized thugs.

During our two-day action, we’ll be coming together to foster movement, build partnerships, bridge solidarity, and ultimately inspire #OccupyInauguration participants to continue ongoing activism that resists oligarchy and organizes to create a better world.

We’ll be making demands of the next president with a diversity of voices from the 99%. #OccupyInauguartion will call for immediate action to be taken on the following demands:

*Scrap the TPP!
*Pass a federal $15/hour minimum wage.
*Free college education and cancellation of student debt.
*Support of a constitutional amendment to abolish ALL "corporate constitutional rights" and "money equals free speech."
*Medicare for All.
*A green new deal with massive investments in renewable energy and infrastructure to create tens of thousands of good paying jobs - supported by the taxation of corporations, Wall Street, and the ultra rich.
*Demand an end to institutionalized racism and police brutality. No federal funding for militarization of police and an end to the racist war on drugs.
*Uphold and protect the rights of immigrants, LGBTQ+ people, women, and our indigenous communities.
*Halt all construction of DAPL pipeline and support an end to fracking.
*Honor the treaty rights of all indigenous nations.
*An immediate end to the bombing of foreign nations, permanent war, massive U.S. military spending, and the U.S. role as leading arms dealer to the world.
*End the surveillance state! We demand immediate pardons for all political prisoners, including Chelsea Manning, Edward Snowden, and Leonard Peltier.

We stand in solidarity with our early endorsers which include: Occupy Wall Street, Green Party of the United States, Liberty Tree, Code Pink, Socialist Alternative, Progressive Independent Party, Move to Amend, Climate Revolution, Popular Resistance, Roots Action, Veterans for Peace, Equality Coalition, Indigenous Environmental Network, United Progressive Coalition, Native Organizers Alliance, Real Progressives, Bernie National Delegate Speaking Panel, Californie for Bernie, Progressive Global Commons, Demand for Universal Healthcare, Activate Now, Socialist City Councilwoman Kshama Sawant, Native American Activist and former Vice Presidential candidate Winona LaDuke, Law Professor and former Florida Congressional candidate Tim Canova, Move to Amend National Spokesperson and Stein/Baraka 2016 campaign manager David Cobb, Standing Rock Camp Coordinator, Lakota Elder and Activist Phyllis Young, North Dakota Congressional Candidate Chase Iron Eyes...

We believe another world is possible and to get there, we’ll need to unite our struggle and build a movement for the 99%, which places people and planet over profits. One of the goals of this action is to build toward the formation of a new independent coalition movement for the 99%. A political party and activist movement outside the stranglehold duopoly of GOP/DNC's influence over national politics. We recognize the establishments of the Republican and Democratic parties to be part of the problem, so we will not be inviting leadership from, or endorsement by them. We believe the 99% needs representation that rejects corporate cash and influence, and instead bases itself on social movements.

We ask you to make a contribution to #OccupyInauguration so we can prepare the event with promotional materials, stages, lights, sound and video systems, shelter, limited transportation, and hot tasty beverages!

Everything helps! Even $5-$27!  We appreciate any support you can lend and passionately urge you to join us in Washington, D.C. January 20th, 2017 to Occupy the Inauguration.

The whole world is watching!  #SeeYouInDC

In Solidarity!
