Wildomar - Oberon's Bill =^..^=

Donation protected
On Saturday, August 22nd at about 2 a.m. in Wildomar, CA, a house caught fire in our community due to an electrical issue.  The intense fire trapped dozens of rescued and disabled animals (two dogs, dozens of cats and even two ducks that an elderly lady had taken in after they had been hit by vehicles near her house) . Sadly, most perished in the house.  The owner was able to narrowly escape and firefighters found one cat that had barely survived the blaze after she ran smoldering from the house. After dousing her with water, they handed the kitty to her mom, Ellen (pictured above the night of the fire before taking her to the emergency animal hospital).

Oberon is a sweet 3 year old domestic shorthair cat  (grey and orange/brown). She barely made it out alive and was transported by Animal Friends of the Valleys to the Emergency Pet Clinic in Temecula, CA.  She is now being treated for 3rd degree burns to her face, mouth and paws.  They have high hopes for this poor kitty as she is already showing improvement but her recovery will be a long, hard road.  Thursday she had to undergo surgery to put in a feeding tube since her mouth injuries were preventing the hospital from being able to feed her very well.

Animal Friends of the Valleys quickly worked to remove the bodies of dozens of perished animals on Saturday morning.  We have already collected the money for the cremation and thememorial box will be returned this coming week to Ellen. This will help greatly for her to find closure over the loss of her personal pets and many rescue animals.

Funds for the animal hospital are desperately needed since Ellen has literally has lost almost everything and homeowner's insurance will not cover animal care expenses.  The hospital is working with us and discounting many normal fees due to the tragic circumstances.

Please give whatever you can and together, we can all help in this effort. Share this website too please!
