Disabled Veterans Alaska Fly Fishing Trip
There are three disabled Veterans selected to participate in a wilderness adventure fly fishing trip fishing near Bristol Bay Alaska. They are all combat veterans who were injured while deployed in the combat zone. This trip needs your support if we are going to be able to make it happen. Please support these fine upstanding young men to achieve a dream fishing trip.
"Hello everyone and thank you for helping sponser this group on a trip of a lifetime. A little about myself, my name is Sean Bennett I am 37 years old and a former Master Sergreant in the airborne community in the United States Army. I was shot in the upper left arm in 2007 and have taken a while to put back my body the way it is suppose to be but I am ready to put it to the test. I was awarded the silver star, bronze star and purple heart for the incident I was involved in and have always felt proud of the job we did in combat and what the military members are doing in combat now. God bless everyone and thank you for helping making this trip a reality for myself and the three other young men."
Hey all,' I am Travis, a 35 year old disabled veteran who spent my service time in 2nd Ranger Battalion and 25th infantry out of Ft. Lewis, WA, from 95'-99'. I broke my back ripping dirt bike just 6 days after discharging form the Army, leaving me a paraplegic. I have embraced and love many adaptive outdoor recreation sports; from mono-skiing, cycling (street/downhill), adaptive wake boarding, working out, swimming, basketball, riding ATV's, and camping and fishing farther out then the local state parks. I am a student at Metro State, and I am my internship away from achieving my bachelors degree as a recreation therapist. FOR ME: THIS TRIP TO ALASKA WOULD BE THE ULTIMATE CHALLENGE, EVEN MORE SO DOING IT FROM MY WHEELCHAIR! It would be highly educational & a once in a lifetime experience! PLEASE HELP ALL (4) OF US GUYS ACHIEVE THIS GOAL!!
Guys, This looks great. I'm so excited that we will be meeting soon in Dillingham! Last night I strung up 4 brand new 7 weight Temple Forks Outfitter fly rods and large arbor reels for our trip. Looking forward to sharing a campfire soon. Mark
