Raising Funds For Cancer Treatment

My brother in law Ikhlaq is currently suffering from Cancer, In March 2016 he was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma on the left pelvic. To shrink this tumour down the doctors advised him to do chemotherapy. Of course Ikhlaq had no other option at the time and went ahead with this. I visited him regularly at home and at the hospital and it was very upsetting seeing him like this. Loss of colour & hair, weakened him, a lot of blood transfusions, it totally changed him. He went through this for 8 months to find that his tumour had not shrunk one bit. It was still in the same place and remained the same size. After many scans the doctors came up with a resolution to operate on his leg and remove as much of the tumour as possible. He was operated on in Nov 2016 in Birmingham Hospital, this operation alone was a major change to his lifestyle. As the tumour was attached to the pelvic bone they had to cut a piece out, which left him with a shorter leg.

After the operation Ikhlaq recovered, major change in his life but by the grace of Allah (god) was cleared of cancer.

Recently Ikhlaq has been getting un well with a few breathing issues so he informed his local doctor and also been for a checkup there.

Ikhlaq has been visiting the hospital for checkups & scans.
On Monday 17th September 2018 Ikhlaq was called in by the Cancer Specialist to the hospital in Leeds, Here Ikhlaq was informed that unfortunately he has Stage 4 Cancer. Reports show that he has a tumour in his lungs. He was given the option to go ahead with chemotherapy but with his previous experience and how awful he said it felt, decided not to go ahead with this option. Currently Ikhlaq is undergoing the Alkaline diet which consists of Organic Fruit & Vegetables and as we all know this can be costly especially if this is all he can eat.

The reason why Ikhlaq would like to go ahead with alternative Cancer Treatment is because he has been having regularly scans and the doctors did not pick up on the tumour in his lungs. Ikhlaq has recently been getting in touch with the Doctor to find out more information but he feels though the Doctors are not treating this as a matter of urgency. Ikhlaq is still awaiting an appointment for a full MRI scan to see if it has spread anywhere else in his body.

As a family we are doing everything we can to help Ikhlaq but this is ongoing and we reach out to cancer research and other charities to please help us directly. You can see who you are helping and we will update you with Ikhlaq's treatment along the way.

Ikhlaq is a young man aged 34 with everything to live for, including two small children and a wife who works very hard to support her family.

We are raising this money for Ikhlaq so we can get him alternative cancer treatment done which he would like to go ahead with.

More about Ewing's Sarcoma:Primary bone cancers are cancers that start in the bone. They are rare, with only about 580 new cases each year in the UK. There are several different types.

Ewing sarcoma is named after Dr James Ewing, who described the tumour in the 1920s. It is a primary bone cancer that can develop in any bone. The most common bones affected are the:

- pelvis
- thighs (femur)
- shins (tibia).
It is most often found in teenagers & young adults, although it can happen at other ages. It is slightly more common in males than females.

Ewing sarcoma can also occur in the soft tissues instead of starting in the bone, although this is not common (this happens in about 1 in every 10 cases). This is called an extraosseous Ewing sarcoma. Sometimes these cancers are called primitive neuroectodermal tumours (PNET).
