Nursing Abroad in the Philippines

Hello everyone! If you don't already know me, my name is Duncan Hall, and I am a nursing student at Georgia College in Milledgeville. I am in my first year in the cohort and will graduate in May 2018. I have been given the humbling opportunity to travel abroad to the Philippines for two weeks this summer to practice as a student nurse providing care to the inhabitants of the island of Bohol, and I need your help to get there. I will leave on the 26th of May and return in June. Your donations will help to pay for the airfare and living expenses. I will have the opportunity to provide healthcare to the population since the healthcare system there, is privatized and very expensive. An example of this is screening the adult population for chronic conditions.  I will also visit orphanages to spend time with the orphans and apply fluoride to their teeth, since the water in the Philippines is not fluorinated like it is here. I know that this trip will be a life-changing experience for me and will provide insight into the Filipino culture. This trip will ultimately benefit me not only as a nurse helping those in need, but also as a college student who has yet to be afforded an experience such as this.
