Help Me Fight Cancer

Donation protected

I discovered a lump on my chest in Spring 2018 and have started treatment. I have medicare but it only covers 70-80% of medical costs including medicine and doctor visits. I'm retired on a fixed income and my electric bill nearly doubled from last year.  I am running out of things to sell on ebay or I would not resort to this kind of effort.  As of July 26, I learned that the suspicious cells found in the needle biopsy are indicative of cancer, and that the type of cancer would only be determined by a core biopsy.  The surgeon said I should just skip that step and have a mastectomy (yes, males get breast cancer, too). Since the co-pay would be 20% either way, I am reluctantly agreeing with him and electing to get the breast removed, lump & all. Best to be sure, he said. I have never had surgery, but I don't see much of a choice. Now I have to reluctantly ask for help as I'm already living to the penny and have x-rays and ultrasound co-pays on top of the imminent surgery.

UPDATE: I have done 2 courses of Chemo and have 2 more to go as of Dec. 11, 2018. The MRI I had before the Chemo showed no further tumors, but the doctors (surgeon and oncologist) insist I do 4 courses of Chemo and up to 6 weeks of daily radiation (5 days a week), so I must continue my stay in the nursing home to deal with these issues as I do not have the money to pay for transport.

UPDATE: Completed chemo 2/6/19. Losing weight and healing surgical wounds effected by chemo and plan to undergo 6 weeks radiation therapy soon. Nursing home threatened last week to move me to  shared room, which would be more claustrophobia and PTSD stress that I cannot deal with right now. Hoping to persuade them to let me stay in this room where I have been for 7 months. Note that they never intimated room status until now.  I give them my entire retirement check and they also take my Medicare and Medicaid, so I feel I should have some say in where to recover. The PTSD is from when I was younger and a so-called trusted person nearly killed me. I have lived alone most of my life in part because of this.  I have applied for HUD apt. nearby but eligibility is on my birthday Aug. 20. Trying to raise deposit for that and my co-pays, which are adding up.

UPDATE: Oncologist rules out radiation, instead issues prescription for Aromasin a.k.a. Exemestane, a drug that will have some problematic side effects, but probably not as severe as 6 weeks of radiation. Since I have no where to go until August, I have elected to stay in the nursing home taking my entire income in the event I get sicker when taking this drug.  The prescription is expected to be issued the week of April 15.

So I am asking for your help. I used to be an audio engineer, DJ, Composer, Producer, Film maker, a voice impressionist, and somewhat of a comic. Would be glad to share my knowledge of such things as a return for your help. Those who already have, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
