Help with Accident

Hello! So my partner was in an accident. While she and the other driver are both okay, unfortunately my car was uninsured and (we found out at the scene) the registration expired. We need to raise money to be able to afford both before we have to go to court or else we'll be fined/suspended license/possibly go to jail. The officer on scene explained to us that as long as we pled not guilty and had the appropriate paperwork when we went to court it would probably get dismissed and we currently don't have enough money to do either. The car insurance quote is about $308, and the registration renewal is about $196. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated and thank you!
