Save The Bottom Line

The Bottom Line is more than a coffee shop. It is an art space that preserves the creative spirit of old Detroit, while pushing the boundaries of what "New Detroit" is. It is a community-based space, a queer space, a safe space for people of color and queer people of color; it is home away from home.

The Bottom Line is a one of the few black owned coffee shops in the city of Detroit, and is the only Trans owned coffee shop in the city. We came together to build a community over coffee. Our guiding principle has been to give back to and support the same people who support us. The Bottom line has been through a few life forms prior to its reopening in July of 2015 under the new management of Noura. Since then, The Bottom line has grown tremendously:

**We have been intentional about creating a space that is welcoming to everyone, even those who can't afford a cup of coffee.
**We've created space for artists to showcase their work.
**We have made it possible for grassroots grass root organizations to generate funding through our space.

At this moment, we have reached an obstacle in our journey and we need the help of our community. Although our business operations are stable, we are facing an old debt (from a previous management team) that could close our doors forever. The total debt is $12,000, and we are trying to raise $8,000 of it by January 31st, 2017. All donations will go toward keeping our doors open.

We thank you for supporting us and partnering with us to make people feel valuable and welcome in the community. We hope you will help us continue to fulfil this mission.

The Bottom Line’s Top Accomplishments of 2016:
