There's No Stoppin' High Schoolers!

Problem:

In today’s world, less than 10% of high schoolers across America have access to coding classes. Even students attending high school in the Silicon Valley region, the technology hub of the world, are faced with this same problem. If this trend continues, there will be wide-ranging shortfalls in the supply of skilled programmers and developers in the years to come. Additionally, in today’s world, coding is an important and useful skill to have, with technology integrated into every step of our day, and we believe that every high schooler should have access to a basic computer science education.

Solution:

No Stoppin’  believes that in today’s society, coding is a fundamental skill that every high schooler should possess. With this objective, we offer a variety of educational opportunities for students to delve into the world of computer science. Firstly, Decoding AP Computer Science A , our online course, has been used by almost 5,000 students from around the world (120+ countries!), logging 25,000+ hours of computer science education. Additionally, we have written and published the 450-page book, Decoding AP Computer Science A: For a High Schooler, By a High Schooler  to make it easier for students to grasp the fundamentals of computer science and independently complete this high school level course. Loaded with tips and over 150 practice problems, this book has already sold over 500 copies, and is now even being integrated into some high school curriculums! In the upcoming school year, Washington High School in Fremont, CA will be using our book and course in classrooms. We are also seeing growing interest surrounding this book from schools across the US, and even abroad, in countries like South Korea. By making it easier for students to access computer science education, we believe we can help convert today’s budding high school programmers into tomorrow’s successful coders and executives.

What Your Support Can Do For Us:

Although we have helped many students, there are millions more out there. In order to reach them, we need your support. One obstacle we face is funding this operation, but your donations could easily help us overcome this challenge. With additional funding, we can officially become a nonprofit organization, allowing us to add more high schoolers to the team and expand our reach. Your money will also, most importantly, let us give every underprivileged school and student a free copy of our book. This will allow us to ensure that no student or school is left behind in learning computer science. Additionally, we can optimize our content to be used to start clubs at high schools across the US where other high schoolers can teach their peers. This has the potential to become a global movement to spread computer science education, and we need your support. We want every high schooler to have access to a basic computer science education, for free. Please consider supporting us give to teenagers an important and empowering skill. Thank you so much for your consideration!

Why Us?

Our team, consisting entirely of high schoolers, is also in the unique position of having first-hand experience in the field of education and mentoring. We design our educational content with the primary purpose of making it relatable to high schoolers. This makes it easier for them to get a better grasp of the subject and retain information. Students find our content appealing and easy to understand, and this has become our distinguishing factor. We are an extremely qualified group with a lot of experience and a strong passion to spread computer science education.

Our Story:

This journey started off with a passion for computer science and a desire to make others passionate about a field they may not be able to explore. In seventh grade, Moksh Jawa started self-studying Computer Science and was immediately immersed into the fascinating world of coding. In his freshman year, he decided to take the AP Computer Science A exam to test his learning, and passed with a 5, the highest score. Discovering that this passion was also a talent of his, Moksh was eager to learn more as a sophomore, but his high school, Washington High School, did not offer any courses regarding computer science. A disappointment at first, Moksh’s inner-entrepreneur kicked in, and he was able to see an opportunity. Just months later, he released his own AP Computer Science A online course, which helped him spread his knowledge of computer science to his peers, as well as further master the field. Realizing that this course was a great success, he went on to write a 450-page book, accompanying the topics covered in the online program.

Seeing that he was not the only one amongst his peers who loved spreading education, No Stoppin’ was born. Besides Moksh, the team includes: Aadit Joshi, Abhishek Sharma, Sai Atmakuri, and Taj Shaik, who all attend Washington High School, Joel Beckwith, from Learning Post High School, and Nadia Hyder, from Monta Vista High School. Each member has a unique skill set (ranging from coding, to marketing, to designing graphics) that they believe can contribute to the overall mission to spread education and make an impact on other high schoolers. The No Stoppin’ team is dedicated to using their talents for the purpose of helping out other students!
