Northy's Aisstance Dog Training

Donation protected

Hey guys!  I need your help!

Northy would offically love to apply for the position of my assistance dog! (a job he already does in an unofficial manner with enthusiasm and dedication!)
The training academy agrees he would be perfect for the job!
And my team of treating professionals advise me this would be  life changing for me and revolutionary in my mental health recovery!

I am looking for assistance in gaining the funds to certify my dog giving him public access rights similar to a guide dog! This will help me regain a level of functioning, stable accommodation and interaction with this world that most people take for granted!

Northy has undergone an initial assessment to show he has the potential to fulfil that need for me. Now all we will need to do is undertake 52 training sessions before he can sit the public assess test to be certified as a fully qualified assistance dog! Which will give him rights to be with me 24 and carry out his very important job.

Any and every donation will get us one training session closer to that goal!

This is why my dog trainer and psychologists and psychiatrists think this is necisary for my Mental Health.

I have been battling mental illness for years with a diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Seasonal Affective Disorder, Complex Trauma and intense feelings of fear that leave me with a critically high heart rate and low blood pressure that trigger panic attacks. All severely debilitating making it hard to maintain social interaction and carry out the necessary tasks to survive in this world.
I have been actively seeking treatment for 10 years from counsellors, psychologists, general practitioners, psychiatrists, therapists, social workers and anyone who had the potential to help me! I have been on the rollercoaster of mood instability, numerous medication changes trying to find the right combination to ease symptoms! ( a long and very difficult process!) I have undergone many  Cognitive Behavioural Therapy course and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy courses as well as numerous inpatient stays to gain the help i so desperately need. I have learnt a lot in this journey and come a long way! But there is a long road to recovery ahead! I am currently in hospital and to avoid another relapse we are desperately trying to find ways to keep me on the road to recovery instead of spiraling down again.
I find it very difficult to function on a day to day basis. I find it very difficult to carry out every day tasks you might find so simply like brushing my teeth, showering and eating! I have become incredibly isolated unable to go grocery shopping and leave my house due to an intense and crippling fear! This has been incredibly difficult for me since leaving law school because of my illness 5 years ago. I have found it very difficult to reaclimatise back into society after being forcibly withdrawn for so long! I have been out of consistent work for years due to loosing numerous jobs because of my illness and low ability to function. This has traumatised me completely i am terrified to leave my house. The only time i do is if i can take my wonderful dog Northy with me. He has been an asset to my recovery adn mental state over the past 3 years i have had him.
My doctors and willing dog trainers believe getting him certified will be a huge help in getting me back on track. What does getting back on track mean to me? Being able to enjoy atleast a little bit of being alive and gaining some level of normal functioning again. Northy has already proven to help me do this! We all think its time to make it official!

I am a mental health advocate blogging daily about my struggles with mental illness to inspire others to seek treatment and let them know that help is available! I am told i make many feel like they are no longer alone and provide valuable insight and understanding to conditions that effect 1 in 4 of us!

Not only would your contribution help Northy help me! But it will allow me to get to a stage of recovery where i can continue my mental health work as a motivational speaker and author. Who knows it may even allow me to get back to work and or uni.

If you have anythign to spare Northy and i would greatly appreciate it! He would love to spend every second of every day with me and you have no idea how much this will help me!!

Please and thank you!!
