Norris Twin Tough: Sutton & Sawyer

Donation protected
Alexis (mother) became very sick and had to be admitted in the hospital while pregnant with twin boys. Alexis stayed in the hospital from March 6-17, 2017. She couldn't keep any food or water down for 10 days which the doctors think caused preterm labor. The twins were born premature at 24 wks on March 14, 2017. Sawyer was born at 1:58 pm and weighed 1.74 pounds. Sutton was born at 2:03 pm weighing 1.83 pounds. Both boys are in the NICU at Greenville. With babies in the NICU they normally stay until their due dates. Sutton and Sawyer's due date was July 3, 2017. The boys have a long road ahead but they are strong fighters! Both boys have went through several tests, x-rays, ultrasounds, blood transfusions and platelet transfusions. Both Sutton and Sawyer's brain scans look good, no bleeding! Sawyer opened his right eye on Thursday, March 23. They took Sawyer's breathing tube out March 23 for about 12 hrs but had to put it back in due to his lungs being so premature he struggled to breath on his own. He currently weighs 1.94 pounds as of March 24. Sawyer is still on antibiotics for infection but his blood count and platelets are good for now. Sutton is free of the E Coli infection but they are still trying to find the source of infection. He's still on breathing tube and had lots of test done yesterday, March 23. Sutton is still on antibiotics as well. His kidneys are leaking sodium because they are so premature. Sutton can't have a PICC line until the infection leaves his little body. He opened both eyes on Thursday, March 23. As of today, March 24, Sutton weighs 1.73 pounds. The boys parents, Alexis and Tyler, didn't get to touch these precious boys until Friday, March 19. Tyler and Alexis have stayed at the hospital with their boys since Alexis got discharged on the 17. Tyler, father, has had to use some FMLA for work due to Alexis being in the hospital so sick before the twins were born. Alexis will have to use FMLA in order to stay with her boys in the NICU. When using FMLA neither parent is paid. The money raised will go to the hospital bills for the twins, Sutton and Sawyer, and Alexis. Thank you all for your support and prayers for the boys! The family appreciates it very much! Please continue to pray for Sutton and Sawyer. We know the Lord can do Miracles!!
