As many of you know, NOLA Til Ya Die was created by me, Kathleen (Kassy) McCall, in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. A creative spark launched a simple image and phrase to provide a strong statement of hope and resiliency during grim times in New Orleans.
The vision may have been mine, but the heart and soul of NOLA Til Ya Die are yours. NOLA Til Ya Die has never been about me. It’s always been about you and the good that we accomplish together. This time, however, it hits close to home. And, this time, I am in need of your help.
On the morning of April 23, 2018 our NOLA Til Ya Die flagship store and warehouse went up in flames. In a matter of hours, everything (yes, everything) was completely destroyed. People tend to think we're a big business with wealthy backers but, in reality, NOLA Til Ya Die is just a small business funded by my savings.
Many of you have asked how you can help and the outpouring of caring and support brings tears to my eyes. Each day I wake and I don't know what to say. Where do I start? How do I start? What do I do? One of the most viable options is to focus on our online business and some branded merchandise displays in other locales.
Then reality hits. Nothing can happen without money. I can’t keep NOLA Til Ya Die alive without the help of others. Financially and emotionally, it will be a long haul. I am not sure of what the future holds and insurance will only begin to cover a portion of the total loss. I’m trying my best to move forward each day but, as I said, I need help.
Any funds we raise will be used to keep NOLA Til Ya Die alive. From design to delivery, shipping to storage, packing to production, embroidery to printing, development to displays, marketing to advertising...anything and everything, The list does not end.
We're better together and you've proven that to me time and time again. I can’t thank you enough for all of your love and support...til ya die!
