Nohemi "Mimi" Castaneda Emiliano BRAIN TUMOR FIGHT

Mimi had been experiencing unexplainable symptoms in late 2016 and was taken to a clinic where she was falsely diagnosed with depression.
In August 2017, she was taken to the ER after a copycat stroke and was hospitalized for tests and scans. Mimi was diagnosed with a grapefruit sized benign brain tumor at 37 years of age. Her Neurosurgeon at University Medical Center of El Paso, Texas decided to remove the tumor piece by piece due to its size and difficult location.
Since then, she has undergone five invasive brain surgeries over the past two years. Due to these surgeries, Mimi has experienced loss of vision, loss of movement in the right side of the body, partial loss of hearing and slight loss of memory.
Unfortunately her story doesn't end there, Mimi must still receive rehabilitation and radiation for an unknown amount of time. This process can take months, not to mention recovery time. Although it is clear how urgent her situation is, her medical health coverage will not cover radiation and rehabilitation facility services.
Those who know Mimi know that she is the most devoted, hardworking, and lighthearted woman. Mimi and her husband, Edgar, were the sole providers for their three girls. Miriam-18 and Jackie-16 are Honor Roll students at Hanks High School in El Paso, Texas, while Isabella-9, also an honor roll student, attends East Point Elementary.
Because of her condition, the financial responsibility has fallen on Edgar. Edgar now has to financially support his family of five, deal with hospital/recovery bills, and keep everyone hopeful.
