Noah’s Courageous Battle

At only 8 years old, Noah Brunskole has been diagnosed with an aggressive brain cancer called pinealoblastoma. On September 1, 2019 he was taken to the emergency room after suffering off and on headaches for the past 5 days. It was there that they found a mass blocking the flow of fluid in his brain, which was causing the headaches. He underwent surgery to help relieve the headaches and drain the fluid.
On September 13, 2019, he then underwent an over 16 hour surgery to remove the brain tumor completely. Although the brain tumor was successfully removed, after reviewing the pathology, it was found this type of tumor needs aggressive treatments to ensure it doesn’t come back.
In October Noah will start 30 days of radiation. It will be Monday-Friday for 6 weeks. After radiation has been completed he will get a short break and then will start 6 cycles (each 4 weeks long) of inpatient chemotherapy. This will involve staying at the hospital for 3-4 days each month as well as various checkups each week. This will be a strong chemotherapy that will have his immune system down and can have many serious side effects as well.
This will be a very intense treatment plan and he will spend lots of time going back and forth to the Cleveland Clinic to meet with his team of doctors. Noah also has 3 siblings at home that need to be taken care of as well to give them as much as a normal day-to-day life as possible.
Noah’s dad and mom, Aaron and Tiffany are doing everything they can to get him healthy and back to playing baseball and basketball. He can’t wait until he can go outside and kick the soccer ball with his sisters Annabelle and Abby and race his brother Nathan on his scooter. Noah has always liked stories about super heroes and now he has become one himself!
