Calvin loves Johnny's Donuts...let's be honest who doesn't! Nothing's better than that first bite of a chocolate sprinkle or maybe a maple bar when it's fresh from the oven. It is impossible to be anything but happy when eating one of these bad boys, proof surrogate! Calvin has the same effect.

I've known Calvin since the day he was born. I remember going to see him in the hospital and nervously holding his bald little baby head. I have always considered him a younger brother, much like I have always considered the Vance family part of my own family. (Farell Vance is my go to emergency contact!) Cal and I have spent rainy days stick racing, whole weekends engulfed in nerf gun tag, and endless hours exploring the Back-Path. During my senior year of high school, I had the opportunity to coach Calvin in lacrosse. Cal instantly became my go-to player for every position. I could count on him for take-aways, goals, and sideline support. Where I had always seen him from a brother's point of view, my eyes were now opened to the amazing, enthusiastic, person Calvin had matured into.

Now the DUDE has grown up! Literally, I got back from my sophmore year at Boston College and BOOM Cal had grown at least 6 inches. This didn't stop him from making insane Go-Pro videos or hitting the pool every night from May until August. Unfortunately, this sudden growth has become a little bit more of a problem.

Mid October, Calvin was diagnosed with a type of bone cancer called an osteosarcoma. His left tiba (the anterior shin-bone) houses the malignant tumor...yes it is benign. Calvin is currently going through Chemotherapy back in the SF bay area and will go under the knife sometime in early December to remove the mass of cancerous cells.

By this point you may be thinking, "why has Juice put this information on a Go-Fund-Me page?" Here's why. As many of you know, I have not cut my hair since May 2013. It is currently down below my shoulders. Calvin has always loved my "flow". Every time I come home, it's one of the first things he comments on! Recently, due to chemotherapy, Cal lost all his hair (as seen in the picture). His brother Nate shaved his hair in solidarity. I plan on doing the same.

I am using this website as a tool to raise money for osteosaroma. The proceeds will be donated toThe Lucille Packard Children's Hostpital Foundation, more specifically the Bass Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders and the Stanford Adolescent and Young Adult Center Program. Calvin has spent time with both centers and it seems like they are doing an amazing job!  Although my goal is $1,000, I will be shaving my head no matter what. I plan on shaving it before Cal undergoes surgery in hopes of surprising him. In that sense, please keep this on the down low. I want to knock his socks off before he goes under the knife because that is a truly scary experience. Feel free to pass this link on too any and all friends! Thank you for your time and support! I can't wait to share a Johnny's Donut with Calvin!
