My name is David Lambert. I am the host and producer of the LOTRO Academy podcast, which I founded in 2010 with my friend Mysteri. I'm also the sole proprietor of a small game development studio called Clandestine Games which is currently working on a puzzle game called SCOOP.
For the past few years work has been hard to find. When I have managed to find work, I've worked incredibly hard, harder than those around me, only to lose the job after only a few months. Now, things are even worse.
I am being kicked out of my home and forced to find somewhere else to live. I do have some time to get things planned, but I will need to move right after Christmas. After evaluating the few options available to me, I believe the best option for me (and to ensure the best future for LOTRO Academy and Clandestine Games) is to move in with a friend and colleague in upstate New York.
The problem is, of course, the distance (around 1,300 miles away from my current home in Springfield, MO), and the fact that I currently have no income or savings at all.
With your help, I plan to rent a cargo van or moving truck shortly after Christmas in order to move my things with me to New York. I am seeking money for the rental costs, gas money for the drive, at least one night's stay in a motel, and any tolls along the way. From my research, this total should come to at least $1,000, possibly more depending on the cargo van or truck rented for the move.
I'm asking for $2,000 in the hopes that I may be able to take everything with me by renting a larger truck (possibly with a trailer), but I'll be very thankful even without meeting that goal. Any money raised beyond the costs associated with the move itself will be used to register Clandestine Games as a legal business in the state of New York or held in reserve for any upcoming living expenses (such as soap, shaving supplies, etc.)
