Help Me Walk Again

Hi - I am McKenzie Catron  and I live in Arizona. I was diagnosed with Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) in April, 2018. This is essentially a syndrome, that effects my heart greatly. When you have POTS, most of your blood stays in the lower part of your body when you stand up. This makes your heart beat faster to try to get blood to your brain. This condition also effects my entire autonomic nervous system.  My doctor at the Mayo Clinic, who has handled my case for the last 8 months, is an expert in finding the underlying cause(s) of this particular syndrome. We have discovered that the POTS  is autoimmune driven, which is why Immunoglobulin Therapy is now my only viable option.  I also have extremely high rare antibodies  towards the Voltage Gate Potassium Channel. The normal range is 0. A high range would be 500, mine is over 6,400 and climbing each time I get a blood draw. United Health Care has denied me twice for the only medication that can give me my life back.
At this time, I’m losing  weight, and independence. My body feels like I’m 70 years old. I have pain in my joints and bones. Every time I have tried to stand since April, I have fainted. I have to use a wheelchair 24/7.  I am severely nauseated all day everyday. My muscles are deteriorating , I have pooling blood in my legs and arms. My vision goes black if I try stand or put my hands above my head.  My heart rate is exceptionally high. I have had it go to over 200 just getting out of the shower and drying off. I am exhausted from the simple task of brushing my  hair,  or sitting in the shower lifting my arms to try and wash out shampoo. I am unable to  work and drive.  I am unable to experience simple things in life. I am unable to be a functioning member of society because United Healthcare will not give me the Immunoglobulin that I desperately need. I 'm young and watching my life go by. There is something that can be done, and it's not being acted on. Immunoglobulin treatment has been used on countless occasions for other people in similar situations. I have lived with these conditions for almost ten months and all I want to do is stand and stretch. I want to be able to walk from room to room, chase my nephew around the house. I want to stand to my full height (I'm pretty sure I've gotten taller) and hug my family. At this point I would be happy just to take out the trash or clean my dogs yard...ew.  I'd give anything just to have a job again. I just want my life back!
We have sent United Healthcare our research and evidence of my deteriorating condition. Although, my neurologist at Mayo has proven that it works on this condition, UHC has said "it's not medically needed" and denied it. The monthly cost for this treatment is $6,400 and my doctor has prescribed one year of treatment to see if my condition improves. Other patients have shown huge improvements in just a few months. We are trying to raise just 6 months worth of treatment to get started and hopefully see some improvement.
Please consider helping me, every dollar will be used towards Immunoglobulin Therapy treatment and my journey to better health. If you are unable to financially help please pray for me and pass this on.

McKenzie is now able to fully sit up for the day and is back to creating her fantastic makeup looks. We have received her 3rd denial for treatment. Our 4th attempt will be an external appeal, possibly involving local Az news and senators, to make a plea for United Health Care to reverse their decision.

McKenzie has taken a turn for the worse. She had chest pain on Sunday that sent her to the ER. She is no longer able to sit up, as her heart rate heads to the mid 130’s. She get extremely lightheaded, numb hands and feet. Trying to get some answers, the DRs she has seen don’t have any solutions. I believe it is the elevated VGKC- we need to start the immune globulin treatment immediately. Thank you everyone who donated and is praying for her.
