NJHS to LEAD, DC
Donation protected
Please help us send Brooklyn Urban Garden School's founding National Junior Honor Society to represent our school at the LEAD (Leadership Experience and Development) conference in Washington, D.C. in February 2017!
Our title 1 school is excited to send 10 elite 6th, 7th and 8th grade students (and three chaperones) on the opportunity of a lifetime! At LEAD, students will attend confrences on leadership, particiapte in panels to develop skills to improve our school culture and make lifelong connections with other student leaders from around the country!
National Junior Honor Society is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. These characteristics have been associated with membership in the organization since its beginning in 1929.
However, the cost of this trip is steep. To ease the cost for these students, we are humbly asking for $4000 for the following:
- Two nights at a D.C. hotel: $800
- Transportation to D.C.
- Food for three days
- Conference dues
Thank you so much for your support! Any donation will bring our students closer to achieving their dream!
