Libby Needs Lifesaving Chemo Now

Libby is a 6-year-old Basset Hound that we recently transferred from one of our partner organizations.

At the time of her spay, it was discovered that she had a Canine Transmissible Venereal Tumor or CTVT. This is a socially/sexually transmitted form of cancer that is spread mostly through mating, but can also be transferred by licking, biting or sniffing the tumor affected area. CTVT is more commonly found in areas where there are large populations of stray dogs. Weekly chemotherapy treatment is considered the treatment of choice, with complete remission expected by the sixth treatment.
