Help us have a home for Christmas! It’s been a rough time for our family and since I’m not graduated or old enough to get a full time job, I’m doing the only thing I can: asking for help. What happened: December 1st, while my mom was stuck in Anchorage because of the earthquake and runway problems, my stepfather sexually assaulted me. - Because my mom is a great mom- she immediately became a single parent again. My stepfather ran away and a warrant is out for his arrest. We then heard that our lease isn’t being extended as promised. In the space of a few days my mom became the sole support of 4 kids and is facing homelessness over Christmas while she’s still grieving my brother’s murder that happened last summer. Her head is still high but the weight is a lot.  Homeless in cold Nome, Alaska is not how I ever imagined one of my holidays. I am applying for a part time job at the rec center but it will be too little, too late. My mom is looking for extra work too. Some time in the shelter wouldn’t be the end of the world for me but my baby brother deserves better. He’s lost his dad already. What we need: $5,000 to get into a new home. Right now that feels like 5 million but if 500 people would give $10 we would be there. Please give whatever you can so I can help my family.
