Nine Pillars Hiphop Fest 2018
Donation protected
Last year we made history with Charlottesville VA's first weeklong festival celebrating hiphop in all its facets.
We received coverage by eight different media outlets, we gave several talented high schoolers a serious boost to their music careers, we started a new Liberation Arts community in town, we collected over 100 pounds of non-perishable food items to donate to the hungry, we financed a brand-new painting of Charlottesville's beloved legal graffiti wall, and we inducted the first two members into the local Hiphop Hall of Fame.
In 2018, we are ready to do it all again, except bigger and better!
This year's festival will take place May 30th - April 8th, 2018. You can help us celebrate a vibrant global culture at an intimate local level, and bring increased visibility to hiphop in a city where support hasn't always been forthcoming.
Funds are needed by Friday, March 23rd so we can adequately prepare for the festival!
Specific funding needs & budget breakdown:
--Art supplies for graffiti exhibit & block party ($500)
--Stipend for visiting artists ($2500)
--Fair compensation for local artists ($500)
--Venue usage ($500)
(This campaign is for donations by private individuals. Businesses and organizations can make tax-deductible contributions through Virginia Organizing. Contact us for more information.)
