Nidge Roe Memorial Fund

Donation protected
My name is Andrea Morrone. Nidge Roe was my beloved Brother-In-Law.

He and my Sister, Marie Roe, were the definition of soulmates. When they were together, just being in their presence was a lesson in what true, unconditional love is all about.

Anyone who knew Nidge or merely had the honour of meeting him, if only once, couldn't help but be touched by his radiance. Love, kindness and positivity were his religion and he practiced them every single day.
If I had a pound for every time he said to me "Andrea, life is too short, let it go" I would have no problem funding this page myself,  a hundred times over.

His chosen profession was giving care and guidance to troubled youth within his local Doncaster community. For Nidge, this was his calling and he answered it with his whole heart.

It is with my own broken heart that I share with you, Nigel suffered a tragic accident in his work place on Tuesday the 21st of August. He passed away from his injuries on Wednesday the 22nd.

He is survived by my beautiful and courageous  Sister Marie and their two amazing boys Aaron, 15 and Ryan, 13.
Nidge's family was his utmost priority and proudest achievement.

He was an avid football fan, particularly The Doncaster Rovers (though don't hold that against him!) He never missed an opportunity to see a match and rarely went out in public without his beloved Rover's shirt. I can only hope that he owned more than one otherwise Marie would likely have had to hose him down on the garden in order to wash it!

Nidge appreciated the simple beauty of his life and every one in it. He gave his all expecting nothing in return. This is a fact now set in immortal stone. He was an advocate for organ donation and in his passing, he has given the gift of life to many others.

I am posting this page in hopes of helping Marie and her boys meet the financial burdens of the future. There is no amount of monetary gain that can remotely heal their hearts but relieving the worry, at least for a while, will allow them time to grieve and process the immense void that Nidge's passing has left.

In closing, I thank all of you who have taken the time to read this tribute and appreciate beyond measure, any donation great or small, l that you can give. I myself live in the US though all donations will be sent directly to Marie's account.

In the words of Nidge Roe, the man, the myth, the legend;

"Life is too short, let it go! And remember..... always look on the bright side of life"

To all his friends and family members;

In lieu of flowers, Nidge's family respectfully requests you consider a donation to this page.

In lieu of wearing black, Nidge, (not so respectfully) requested that everyone wear a Doncaster Rover's shirt at his funeral. If you don't have one, you can borrow one of his! Otherwise red and white will be the dress code.

Funeral services will be announced via his Facebook page in the coming days.
