Nicole Alexander, mother of two amazing children and the wife of her soulmate Donny went into the hospital on May 6th with what she thought were symptoms of the flu. Only to be sent to OHSU and 4 days before Mother's Day she learned that it was really Small Cell Lung Cancer Stage 4 and Chemo was started within a week of the diagnosis.
Her husband Donny owns a small landscaping business and is starting his busy season and needs to balance the needs of his wife and keeping a roof over their head. Her family has stepped in to help care for Nicole and her children, the youngest Noah is only 4 years old.
The expense of commuting to OHSU and time off have already taken their savings. Nicole had to put her education on hold with only 8 more classes until she graduates with a AAS in Accounting.
While this diagnosis has been devastating and potentially tragic, there is hope and that's where we need your help. Chemo can only give Nicole a little more time with her family. What she really wants is to have Radical Remission of her cancer and it can be a possibility with treatments using Immuno-Therapy in conjunction with Chemo. These treatments have been around for awhile and have received recent groundbreaking developments and are becoming much more effective than ever before. However her insurance will not cover the cost, on average each treatment can cost $40,000.
Our goal is to raise $80,000 which would be enough for at least 2 treatments. If we are able to raise beyond that it would be even better and increase the likelihood of Nicole receiving the best possible results so she can get back to being the loving mother and wife to her family and finish her degree to benefit her community and all those that come into contact with her. Help us give Nicole the much needed opportunity to become cancer free and experience Radical Remission.
