Update 5.21.20:

Friends, we are resetting this to serve as a memorial option to celebrate the legacy of of our dear friend Nickie with John's support. Please know this is and has always been set to go
directly to them. John of course knows how to honor her wishes best. Here is what John just shared via CaringBridge:

Nickie's funeral will be start at 11am Mountain time (12pm Central time) on Friday, at Bethany Lutheran Church.

*** You will be able watch online live at https://bethanylive.org/ ***

There will be a program available for you to follow along at this link as well, and we will also have the service posted on YouTube shortly after it's conclusion.

Again, if I haven't reached out to you directly and asked you to attend, I sincerely apologize. Hopefully this is the last of the all the impossible decisions I have been forced to make. Get comfortable at home, watch it together with friends and family, love, hug, and support each other. I know how much she meant to all of you and I have no doubt it pains you not to attend in person.

Regarding flowers and donations - I have several ideas for charitable donations in Nickie's name and ways to honor Nickie's memory that I will be sharing in the weeks to come. Nickie's highest priority was always to serve God, her family, friends, church, and community and make the world around her a better place. We have set up the Nickie Fowler Memorial Fund at FirstBank of Colorado, and you can simply call them (303-694-9000) or stop in any branch to make a donation. The GoFundMe page our friend Kelli set up is also available.

We continue to feel surrounded and supported by all the love and cherish every one of you, and we will catch up with all of you in person in the days, weeks, months, and years to come.

John, Evan, William, Sophie, and Thomas Fowler

Love to all that were blessed by knowing Nickie and her family. We are all better humans for it.♥️

Update 12/3/2019:

Troops: Time for another round. As the friends and family of Dear Nickie and John may have read today in the CaringBridge post, Nickie had another serious allergic reaction to a second drug, Oxaliplatin, which was a setback. In the meantime, Nickie is getting some treatments that are “essentially experimental and not covered by insurance.” So this is my own call for another round. One of the few things we can do is help allay worries about money. We all know they would be among the first to do the same for others. As I indicated to John when asking for permission to do this, good karma brings about good karma, and just take in people’s desire to do something to help. Let’s do this, friends! We love you, Nickie and John!! ♥️♥️

Update:
Okay troops, this is a call for round two of support just as our dear friend Nickie is going through round two of this fight. With their blessing, we am raising the goal and encouraging their many wonderful friends and family to consider giving and sharing this GFM page for them. While so many people have already been incredibly generous, and it has no doubt lessened their family’s burden, they are now unexpectedly up against more expenses as they explore trips for opinions/surgeries that are not in driving distance, another round of chemo, and alternative therapies for peritoneal cancer that are not covered by insurance. The last thing they need to be worried about is how to pay for things – let’s enable them to be laser focused on the most important things. Like before, all funds raised go directly to them. Let’s let Nickie and John and their kids know that we got this. We love you Nicole Rowe Fowler!

Original Story:
Anyone that has met Nickie is aware of what a special person she is. She has been adored since before our Drill Team and jazz band days together back in high school. We know this girl can still dance, but since those days she has also become an incredible mother to 4 great kids, talented artist, active community member, and tireless advocate for their son with autism. As many are aware, she is battling Stage 4 colon cancer. We know she is a pillar of strength and has incredible family support, but let's help the fabulous Fowler clan by raising some funds to offset upcoming medical expenses. It is one thing those of us that are at a distance can do to help and it will be one less thing for them to worry about.  Funds go directly to their family, but in true Nickie style, she plans to donate whatever money they do not use to an organization for people under 50 diagnosed with colorectal cancers. She did not intend for that to be revealed, but it is share-worthy in that it is reflective of her always giving heart and all the more reason we need to support her and her family.

For the latest, here is the Caring Bridge site John set up so that all who adore Nickie and her family can learn of updates.
