Nicole Hawkins Chadwick died on May 22, 2019 while participating in a prescribed fire at Ft. Jackson, SC. She was an amazing woman, top notch wildlife biologist, prescribed fire advocate, and mother of three, including two young boys 7 and 9yrs old.
She was tough. She was funny. She was kind. She devoted over two decades of her short life to natural resource management and endangered species recovery. The prescribed fire, red-cockaded woodpecker and longleaf community has been rocked by her sudden tragic passing.
But her family is feeling it the most, so as friends and colleagues we hope you will join the South Carolina Prescribed Fire Council, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, in raising funds for Nicole's two boys.
