Hurricane Irma Help for Our Friends

Thank you to all who have donated so far! Your generosity is greatly appreciated! 

My name is Tracy Goggans. My husband, Gary, and I met Jenn and Charlie in 2010 when I started working at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. They both worked for the same health system. Through work we became great friends, traveling together, camping, and relaxing around the fire pit on weekends. Charlie and Jenn moved to USVI three years ago when a career growth opportunity came along for Charlie at the hospital in St. Thomas. Since that time, Gary and I moved to Milwaukee for our careers, as well. We have remained great friends with Charlie and Jenn, seeing each other a few times a year and communicating weekly. It is our intent to help them through this difficult time as any good friend would do.

Many of you have asked how you can help our friends, Charlie and Jenn Nickerson, since losing everything in Hurricane Irma. Luckily, Charlie and their pets survived, however the hospital where they work suffered catastrophic damage and their home is destroyed and uninhabitable. We are grateful that Jenn was attending a conference on the mainland when the hurricane hit, otherwise she would've been in their home with the pets when it was destroyed. At this time, Charlie remains in St. Thomas with their animals and Jenn is in Milwaukee with the Goggans family until it is safe to return to St. Thomas. Crime is becoming a major problem on the island and preventing Charlie from returning to their house to salvage any important belongings or documents. Military forces have been stationed at major intersections and buildings to aid in the increasingly serious crime and looting problems. Jenn will try to keep everyone updated as details emerge. We are very thankful that our loved ones and their fur babies are safe at this time!

Let's come together as a community and help them in the short term while they figure out their next steps. All donations will be withdrawn and deposited into an account set up for to Jenn and Charlie to help fund a new home and replace household items, including clothing, furniture, and personal belongings that have been lost or destroyed.
