Niamh Varian-Barry's Debut Album
Welcome to my gofundme page!
I am a violinist, violist and singer and I have been making music and performing since as far back as I can remember. Since singing with Solas for 3 years I have been writing songs and instrumentals about the moments of my life that have shaped me, so this is an album about my experience of moving to a new place and starting a family, amongst other things.
I'm very excited to have really great musicians on board so far: Donogh Hennessy (engineering and guitar), Gerry O'Beirne, Peter Staunton, Natalie Haas, Eamon McElholm, Aidan Dunphy and Dan Bodwell. I'm also very honoured to be singing two Ger Wolfe songs on the album.
I need your help to cover the following:
The remainder will be used to promote the album
One of the rewards includes a high quality framed print of one of my father's land artwork pieces, uniquely created for my GoFundMe supporters. His website is www.gerrybarryartworks.com and it's well worth a look!
Thank you for your support this far and I can't wait to share the album with you all.
You should all have received your download link for the album by now.
If you haven't please contact me asap on Facebook or firstname.lastname@example.org as the album launches next Thursday, February 8th and I want to make sure that you get the early release.
Hope you are all enjoying the music!
I'm delighted to tell you that I have the master of the album on my headphones right now and I am thrilled with how it's sounding! I just wanted to keep you updated on the practical side of things...
I hope to have a link for you all to download the album in a few days, before I release it to the general public.
It will be the start of February when I get the hard copies in my hand and I will start posting them out to you all when I get back home from my US tour with Duó. ( www.duo.ie) I will then get in touch with those of you who chose the Skype lesson to organise a good time.
Once again, and I can't stop saying this, thank you so much for your support and help in making this album!
I hope you had a lovely Christmas and are enjoying the New Year. I am really humbled by your support so far and very grateful to those who have contributed to the album.
Thanks to some very generous offline donations and a new PR plan for the year, the target to reach is lower. The great thing about GoFundMe is that the project receives all the funds already pledged and everyone who pledges is guaranteed to receive their reward.
Thank you so much again for supporting me and I am extremely excited to share my music with you all. I'm so happy with how it is sounding and very proud of it!
So this is the final push! Is there a family member, friend or dog who you haven’t shared it with yet? I would really appreciate all your efforts to get this over the line!
It's been just over a week since I launched this GoFundMe campaign and I have honestly been so bowled over and humbled by all your support.
I am delighted to be able to use such a platform to help me make the best possible album!
I wanted to introduce you all to the musicians on the album over the next while.
Let's start with a lady who almost needs no introduction - Natalie Haas!
I first heard Natalie when a cellist friend of mine, Ilse de Ziah, put on the Fire and Grace album. I couldn’t believe the sounds that her and Alasdair Fraser were making with just 2 string instruments! I was floored! I then had the pleasure of meeting Natalie when we played a few times at Celtic Connections together with Solas and when she recorded on our album, Shamrock City.
I was thrilled when Natalie was able to record on this album and I can’t wait for you all to hear her!
Please keep sharing and telling your friends! Every share helps and I’m 26.16% of the way there! ;-)
