Next Generation Storytellers!

Tax deductible
In February, many Bay Area families hit the slopes for “Ski Week”. Not everyone can afford those trips. And for low income families, the school break can be a burden, increasing child care costs & complications.

With the money raised, we can send 10 kids in Silicon Valley without financial means to KMVT’s Intro to Video Production Camp. Kids will spend that week getting hands-on media production experience in a real studio environment. They will become trained camera operators, directors, audio engineers, actors and producers.

By the end of the week, they get to show off their creativity and hard work with game shows, talk shows, entertainment performances & anything else they dream up. They will also leave with practical skills to continue being great storytellers. The segments they produce will air on KMVT's Channel 15 and be uploaded to YouTube!

About KMVT15 Silicon Valley Community Media: A local non-profit that offers media education, hands-on training and access to local government proceedings. A Mountain View institution since 1982, today KMVT also serves communities in Los Altos, Cupertino, Sunnyvale and Foster City.

About Me: I joined KMVT's board in 2013 because I believe that community media plays a crucial role in engaging people in local issues, giving them a voice and empowering them to make the change they want to see in the world. KMVT is a local gem, training students of all ages to bring their stories to the community & to the world.
