Rebuild the Denver Catholic Worker!

$10,830 of $30,000 goal

Raised by 48 people in 4 months

On May 23, 2018 we were offered an anonymous $100,000 matching pledge. As of Thursday, August 16, we have raised over $101,000 towards that pledge which will enable us to pay off the the entire loan on our new house!!!

Thanks to every one of you who has supported us and made this possible.

There is still  more money left to raise, however. Renovations in the new house are ongoing, and as soon as they are completed, the Denver Catholic Worker House, which was destroyed by a fire in 2016, will be open once again.

In order to complete these renovations we need to raise another $20,000. Please, help us spread the word and help us make this possible!

Hello friends,

We are ecstatic to report that we have officially met our $100,000 matching pledge. Since the $100,000 match was offered on May 23, we have raised over $101,000! This is amazing and enables us to pay off the entire loan on our new house!!!

Hi friends!

On July 2, 2018,  we celebrated our 40th anniversary by purchasing a NEW CATHOLIC WORKER HOUSE! (WAHOO!!!) We were able to do this thanks to your generosity and the help of a $200,000 loan. We continue to raise money towards our overall goal of $300,000 in order to pay back this loan, make the necessary renovations, and operate the Hospitality House.

We are now approaching the end of our $100,000 MATCHING PLEDGE. To date, we have raised $63,000 towards this goal. We need another $37,000 to unlock the final matching funds. Do you know someone that you can introduce to this project? If you need any particular information to do that, please let us know!

Our new House of Hospitality is a four bedroom house within the half block of Emmaus Housing -- a small non-profit affordable housing organization that was founded by a group of Cathloic Worker related folks in Five Points in 1999 and has been operated by those folks for 19 years.

We plan to open the house sometime in early fall 2018!

Thanks for your support!

We've got some MAJOR UPDATES to report:

1) We have a contract in place to purchase the home! We went under contract on the house yesterday, and plan to close on July 2, 2018.

2) We have received a $100,000 matching pledge from an anonymous donor. WOW! WOW! WOW! Every penny that is donated towards the house from now on, all the way up to $100,000 will be doubled.

Please help us spread the good news among your friends and family. We are simply amazed by the generous spirit of God that is at work in this process.

A way is appearing in the wilderness.
God is singing a new song among us.
It's a beautiful thing.
