New Hip for K9 Emma

This fundraiser is being conducted on behalf of K9 Emma and her handler Amanda Wise. This GoFundMe is to help Amanda with vet costs related to Emma who needs a hip replacement.

Emma is a 6-year-old Labradoodle who has been a certified search dog with Pennsylvania Canine Search and Rescue. Emma has been sidelined for several months while Amanda and the vets decided what needed to be done. Originally Amanda thought Emma’s search career is over but after many tests and therapies the vet informed Amanda that Emma will be able to return to the work she just loves after a period of recovery and then additional time of search training.

To help with this expense this fundraiser is being over seen by Pennsylvania Canine Search and Rescue, a 501c3 organization. The surgery will cost $7,000 and all funds up to that will be used to cover the cost to have a hip replacement for Emma. Should this amount be reached the fundraiser will be stopped.

Search dogs and their handlers go through hundreds of hours of training and their service to the community is priceless. The K9’s are used to help locate missing people such as Autistic children, dementia patients, hunters, hikers, despondent and so on. The process to get a K9 operational is very costly and the handlers are all volunteers who use their own funds to support this process.
