Hello everyone,

My name is Xavier, I am from France.

In 2018, while  I was travelling South-East Asia , I met Kimlean Veoun, who runs New Dream of Cambodian Children Organisation. Kimlean, coming himself from a poor family, he understood in his early age that education was the key to have a chance to of get out poverty.

Once I have met this guy and the kids it was impossible to do nothing. Now I am back in Siem Reap and I am helping out Kim on a daily basis with his organisation.

The fund will be used to build a brand new school construction:  $8,000 for concrete foundation, builders,  water pump, toilet, sink and kitchen area, three large classrooms and lighting.

You can follow the progress of the construction at   https://www.facebook.com/newdreamcambodianchildren/

New Dream of Cambodian Children Organisation is a totally free community school in Phneachey Village, Siem Reap, Cambodia. They teach English to kids whose parents can't afford to send them to school.

New Dream of Cambodian Children Organisation was founded in 2014 and was registered as an official NGO in 2018 with the government of Cambodia under number 2197.

Please visit the website for more information about the story of organisation: http://www.ndcco.org/

For you, this is an opportunity to change the lives of so many children, for much less than you would spend on a vacation or a car.

This good can be done anywhere but in Siem Reap your euro/dollar makes a HUGE difference. You will be giving young kids an amazing opportunity. They will be able to learn English and/or get a job in the legitimate tourist industry (rather than the sex trade industry)

The cost of everything in Cambodia is a fraction of what it is in Europe or North America.

The current school is located in three rooms in a rented house, conditions are spartan. The schools run at full capacity providing lessons to 80 kids.

After four years of running the free school in his own house, as the school becomes more and more popular, it is time to move forward. The objective is to  build our own school to welcome 150 kids full time.

All the learners entering New Dream of Cambodian Children Organisation school come from underprivileged areas around Siem Reap. Most of them don’t go the public school.

The end goal is for every child to be proficient in English in order to secure them a career in tourism, hospitality or teaching English.

New school construction:  $8,000 for concrete foundation, water pump, toilet, sink and kitchen area, three large classrooms and lighting. Volunteers will build with the assistance of a skilled builder or general contractor.

Supplies: Classroom furniture, whiteboards, pens, pencils, notebooks, a couple of computers. Some of which, has already been purchased for the current school.

Teachers: Three full-time teachers will be hired to run the school 7:30-10:30 and 13:00 -16:00. Salary estimated at $750 per month.

Three classrooms with 25 students per class.

Ages: 6-9, 9-12 & 12-16.

New Dream of Cambodian Children Organisation English curriculum aims to provide:

constant student practice of the four language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing.
sufficient practice of grammatical structures and new vocabulary, introduced within appropriate and meaningful communicative contexts.
a variety of effective teaching and learning techniques.
regular opportunities for interaction between teachers and students, as well as between students, in pairs or group work.
