This is New Children's Home (NCH), local self-sustaining Nepalese orphanage in the small neighborhood of Hattigauda. Founded in 2002, NCH began with 10 kids from rural areas as far as the Himalayan mountains, but now has expanded to house 40+ children ages ranging 4 to 16. Many had parents who died in the recent civil war from 1996 to 2006 with more than 19,000 people dead and almost 150,000 internally displaced. Some joined NCH to escape abusive households and bad neighborhoods.
NCH has welcomed these helpless children with open arms and a big heart. Quickly, the children there turned siblings and shared countless memories in their new home. This is not a foster care home, but long-term home for children in need until graduation and even longer. But NCH needs your help!
As an independent organization, NCH does not receive any funds from the government and relies on donations for food, tuition, and school supplies. With their uniforms bearing holes and their shoes falling apart, we need your donations to buy new uniforms, as well as pens, books, notebooks, etc. Some children skip school out of shame because they don't have a suitable uniform, while others struggle to pass their classes since they need to share the same textbook. Despite their struggles, the children always manage to crack a smile and share everything from books, food, and even beds. No matter how little they own, they remain generous, brave, and selfless. But these strong little creatures cannot handle all the weight of the world!
So, we ask YOU to be generous in return and donate whatever you can spare for these strong children. Even $5 could go a long way!
