New Power Chair for Hannah's Independence
Donation protected
As many of you know Hannah has a 'bad back'.
Well, this 'bad back' is degenerating and will continue to do so as currently in the UK there is no medical treatment for her condition.
Coming to terms with this fact, after undergoing major, whole spinal surgery and intensive rehab has been exceptionally hard for Hannah.
In the past she has refused to use her walking aids or be in her wheelchair as it strips away her independence but it has got to the point where she is falling multiple times a week, that she has no choice.
Her currently wheelchair is a cheap, self-propel chair which has done the job perfectly for when we do our grocery shopping if I am with her. Hannah cannot self-propel due to the restraints on her back movement so, if she is alone, she often cannot leave the house.
With a new chair, she will have much more freedom and ability to go out whenever and wherever she wants but the issue is, power chairs are not cheap.
We would usually never ask for help but Hannah is in desperate need of a new, electric wheelchair that she can use by herself and help alleviate a least some of her daily pain.
We are already so thankful for all the support and love we have and when Hannah meets her new surgical team we will post new updates on the future of her condition and her back.
The strongest person you could meet.
FYI it has taken A LOT for Hannah to admit she needs help. She is fiercely independent and stubborn and her 'disability' has always felt like a shameful subject to her. She is trying so hard to ask for help and be open and honest about her health and in time, she will accept her truth but give her time and support.
