The Situation
Angela suffers from seizures. She has found that for her safety, and that of her two-year old daughter, a trained service dog has been a lifesaver.
A hero came into her life - a German Shepherd/Husky mix. His name? Hero! And he proved to be one time and again. Hero allowed her to be able to gain employment, be a successful mom and wife, remain active in her church community, and live a healthy life.
The Crisis: Why She Needs Funds
While they were riding the bus to work, Hero was attacked and badly damaged. Sadly, at two years of age, his health had declined to the point where he had to be put down.
Now Angela is in immediate need of a new service dog. Service dogs require special, intensive training, which means that not any dog will do.
The Blessing
Another family at church found they were going to have to give up their rescue dog, Bailey. He is not service dog trained, and so will need complete training in order to serve as Angela's lifeline.
The Need
The base cost of this trained dog with necessary service dog equipment is $7,000.
The public access certification will be yet another expense.
With her young family and their combined limited income, they can't do much of this by themselves!
