New electric chair needed
Donation protected
Hi, I’m a 33 year old journalist and full time wheelchair user with cerebral palsy. I use an electric powered wheelchair to go about my daily life and work, but sadly parts have now broken on my chair, and the original company who made has now been taken over and some parts have stopped being made.
Even if it can be fixed, sooner rather than later I will need a new chair to live my life to the fullest and the best way I can.
Chairs like this cost around £15, 000 (updated from the original £6,000, which was the cost of my chair in 2007), and I can’t get help from the NHS, and can’t afford it on my own.
I wasn’t expected to live past 2 years old and I've now turned 33.. My family and particularly my mum have fought long and hard for me to be as independent as possible, and I don’t want to be held back because I don’t have a chair, which for me is the equivalent of an able bodied persons legs!
i would be forever grateful for help!
Thank you
Dayne
