Neurofibromatosis (NF) is a genetic neurological disorder that affects nerve endings causing tumors to grow inside and outside of the body.
NF affects approximately 1 in every 2,500 births with no regard to race or gender.
Neurofibromatosis Midwest is dedicated to the increasing number of men, women and children challenged by neurofibromatosis. We’ve been a nonprofit 501(c)3 since 1982, and we are determined to continue our work to educate, comfort, improve clinical care and fund research for treatments and a cure. We are staffed by people with a personal interest in NF, with real experience and a determination and motivation to use precious funds in an efficient manner.
The funds that are raised will help us to provide more funding towards more research to find more ways to treat NF, workshops and symposiums to educate the community and raise more awareness for NF.

You have to have NF or be the parent of a child under 18 yrs old to be a member.
Everyone in our Family has NF or is a parent of a minor child with NF. Everyone is wonderful and very supportive! I started the page on February 12, 2016 with only 2 members, myself and my Mom. Today we are over 4,900 NF members worldwide!
