Jamison Nestegard Fundraiser

Jamison Nestegard (Son of Sid & Becky Nestegard), age 9, was recently diagnosed with P.A.N.D.A.S. (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorder Associated with Streptococci). It is a rare disorder that prevents the body from eliminating strep bacteria with normal antibiotic treatment. The bacteria stays in the body, specifical...ly in the brain, and causes an array of debilitating symptoms. Some of the symptoms include OCD, separation anxiety, sleep disorders, behavioral regression, aggressiveness, hyperactivity, facial tics, deterioration of fine motor skills, increased sensory responses, and gastrointestinal problems. The family has struggled for the past two years with Jamison having all of these symptoms and no answers from the array of many professionals they sought help from. No one had an idea as to what the cause or solution was to help their sweet boy who could no longer seem to control these behaviors. He is currently being homeschooled and as the family reached out for more help, a series of events, nothing short of a miracle, led them to the right doctor in Chicago, a leader in P.A.N.D.A.S. care and research, who can provide hope and treatment to manage the symptoms and bring Jamison back to health. Unfortunately insurance does not cover the cost of the $13,000 IV-IG treatment needed or the travel and lodging expenses incurred. Jamison just finished his 1st round of antibiotics and his symptoms improved immediately. The problems returned once the antibiotics ended, so the immune boosting treatment is needed and he is currently in Chicago now to begin that to help fight the bacteria. The Nestegard family and their friends are hoping everyone can help support them to raise money for the medical costs.
