After living in a 2 bedroom apartment for the past 10 yrs I made the agonizing decision to move to a 1 bedroom because my son moved to Toronto to attend college and would not be returning home to live. We found a newly renovated 1 bedroom, close to my work with a lovely deck off the entrance. We signed the lease and began moving in. The second day we met the next door neighbor as he was sitting on the deck with his apartment door wide open when we were moving in. I was shocked to see that his entire apartment was full of trash and filth from floor to ceiling. We brought it up to the landlord because seeing he was a smoker we were concerned.  The landlord gave him 30 days to get his mess under control. 2 days later we wake at 2:00am to the sound of cracking and windows smashing. Sure enough..his place is on fire! We run to his door and he is just standing there..the front of his apartment completely engulfed in flames. When we ask him what is going on he said..oh just a little fire in my matress..nothing to worry about, go back to bed! Needless to say, the firemen did their best to prevent it from spreading but we suffered significant water damage and lost a great deal of stuff including our bed and sofa because of it. We need to find a new apartment asap! and will need first and last months rent again to secure one.  We just finished moving and paying out thousands of dollars in rent and moving costs. We do not have the money or resources to do it all over again.  We HAVE to be out of this hotel room Friday at 10:30am and have no place to go. We managed to scrape together a little bit of $$ but still need at least $1400 to help cover the cost of first and last and to move again. We need your help please!!!
