Relay For Jobs has been in operation since 2013 andbacked with 60 years of experience. Slack Construction, Inc. (General Contractor) is licensed-bonded and insured with an alliance of experienced staff, which allows the company to provide an array of services in several areas: Residential/Commercial Construction, excavation, and environmetal-commercial clean up. After working in the community for multiple years and seeing the need of community (IEs), the goal and vision was birthed to give back to the community and low-income residents of the Village of Cahokia and surrounding communities.
This Vision was created in 2013 to become recognized as an effective provider of services that EDUCATE, EXPOSE and EMPOWER individuals in need. Relay For Jobs is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization created exclusively for charitable, scientific, health, nutrition, recreation, educational, housing and job training purposes. Relay For Jobs has successfully carried out its mission to enhance individual and family lives in the cities of Centreville, East St. Louis and villages of Alorton, Brooklyn, Cahokia and Washington Park by promoting community empowerment, neighborhood revitalization, entrepreneurship and advocating for the need for housing rehabilitation, home ownership and job training.
Relay For Jobs realizes that our quest is unique. We want to train, mentor and secure jobs for each participant.
Founded on the belief that if a strong foundation is built, each person can withstand the obstacles that they may face throughout their life span, Relay For Jobs will provide individuals and families with what is needed to be confident on succeeding in life.
