Moose's Radiation/Cancer Treatment

Donation protected
Anyone who has met Moose knows him as the happiest, smartest pup in the whole world. He's never met a stranger. Even though he is only 4 years old he has been a blessing to us and our entire family since day one and we could not imagine life without him.

Two years ago, we were shocked and heartbroken when Moose was diagnosed with a nasal cancer that we later found out was lymphoma. We couldn't believe that this could happen to our dog who was barely more than a puppy. After months of cooking his food (giving him a completely holistic diet), researching natural cures, and giving him lots of kisses .. the mass had miraculously "disappeared". Doctors described it as "almost complete resolution with no treatment".

A few weeks ago, Moose began acting like a completely different dog. The happy-go-lucky dog we had always known was no where to be found. He became too tired to fetch the tennis ball (his favorite), he became timid and scared, and started lashing out at our other dog whom he had always loved.

We figured out it was a brain issue after monitoring him for a few days. We took him back to the animal hospital at UGA where the whole process started two years ago and it was confirmed that, yes, Moose had a brain tumor and also that the nasal tumor was back and bigger than before. The doctors are unable to take a biopsy of his brain but are convinced it must also be lymphoma being that two different cancers in a dog this young would be extremely rare.

Moose starts radiation for the tumors on Monday and is staying at UGA Small Animal Hospital. They plan on treating him once a day with the radiation, and have created a plan that allows them to fight the tumor with strong enough radiation, but weak enough that it shouldn't damage any healthy brain tissue.

It pains me to ask for help because that means admitting to myself how serious Moose's situation really is but I've come to the conclusion that his tumor will not go away all by itself this time.

The vet bills have been adding up for months and any contribution would help us give our little boy the long, healthy life that he deserves.

Moose promises to send everyone that helps a lovely, paw-written card!

Thanks, love all yall!
