This is Lucy, she is 8 years old who has been completely healthy until two weeks ago. Lucy was suddenly feeling unwell with flu-like symptoms, that didn't go away. She became very weak, and lethargic, and rushed to Sick Kids Hospital because her hemoglobin was extremely low, to the point where the emergency Doctors were in tears to tell my sister that Lucy may have Leukemia. Within the last few days this little girls world has been turned upside down. she has been admitted to Sick kids, dehydrated, unable to keep her fever within normal range, 3 blood transfusions, and a bone marrow biopsy. The Doctors confirmed today that Lucy has Leukemia. She is starting her first round of chemotherapy tomorrow, and being transferred to the cancer unit at Sick Kids. Lucy's mom and dad have not left her side for a second and are completely devastated by this news. During this time of need, I wish my Sister and her family to have no added stress financially and could use any amount of support possible.
