Winston Needs Your Help!

Winston is a sweet little five year old rescue French Bulldog with a very debilitating condition.    He has Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency, or EPI, which means that his pancreas cannot function properly on  its own.  Prior to his diagnosis, his weight dropped from 31 pounds to a terrifying 23 pounds in just a few short months.   Even with an abundance of food in front of him, he was literally starving to death.

Now that his condition has been diagnosed via blood tests, he is taking a pancreatic supplement twice a day (very expensive!) and eating Hill's Prescription Diet I/D Digestive Care canned dog food  (even more expensive!).  He's already had one veterinary consult, but he will also need follow up veterinary care to monitor his condition.  It's not going to be an easy journey for Winston...

Unfortunately, the family that has loved Winston for all of his life is not able to go on Winston's journey with him.  A family crisis has upended their lives and forced them to give up their beloved pet for rehoming.  Not their fault.  Not Winston's fault.  Nobody's fault.   Sometimes life just hands you thorns instead of roses. 

So now Winston is with me, happily munching his way to better health.  He's up to 26 pounds now, and that's good.  However, he's still not out of the woods yet.

I've been involved in French Bulldog rescue since 1994,  as a founder, as a board member, as a foster home, as a volunteer, and now the last 5 years as a private rescuer.   Money has always been a major consideration when it comes to being able to take in, care for, and responsibly rehome a foster dog,  Thanks to the dog loving community I have been so lucky to be a part of all these years, I have never had to turn a dog away.  I am reaching out to you now,  so that Winston can have what he needs while he waits for that new home.
