Dear Family & Friends,
We are so blessed to have each and every one of you in our lives! Thank you for your love and friendship! As many of you know, Rob and I were blessed with a son, Lukas, 6 years ago. We named him after a very dear friend of ours from college, Lukas Oldenburg, who we tragically lost in an avalanche accident. We gave him his middle name, Phillip, in honor of his Grandpa Phil who we also tragically lost before Luke was born. Family and friends run deep for us. We love you more than you will ever know. We are not the best at expressing this love and we're now trying to get better at it. Some of you have asked and some of you may wonder how we're all doing, and I would suspect that we are doing like a majority of families. However, we have recently discovered through the help of teachers and professionals that Lukas has a weakness socially and behaviorally. Being a faith based family, we understand and believe that God has given us all individual strengths and weaknesses. We have found an opportunity to strengthen Lukey's weakness without the use of medical drugs - this is a HUGE answer to our prayers! It does come with a high cost. Yes, financially but also with commitment, time, and energy. We want Lukey to know that he is loved beyond measure! There is no cost, commitment, time, or energy that is too great! The love of God, family, and friends is SO much bigger! !
We've begun this amazing program that is transforming all of our lives. I love to see the determination in Lukas to complete his "super-ninja" exercises and his willingness to try new foods. This program has asked us to commit to 24 weeks.
For 24 weeks we will:
1. Bring him to the center three times a week
2. Do a specific series of 12 exercises 2-3 times daily
3. Change our diet
4. Chart his progress
5. Cheer him on
Lukas is an amazing boy who is doing most of the difficult work. The awesome part is that he loves it, looks forward to it, and wants to succeed.
